Points per beam
Increasing this figure causes the on time at each of the points in your shapee to be increased, resulting in brighting beams.
Max points
To avoid strobing / work within your lasers capabilities a good rule of thumb is to keep the total number of points below whatever the threshold is for your lasers scanner. This means, for all of the beams being output (across all shapes in your design) calculate:
(number point x points per beam)
and keep the total below / up to that figure
For my Unity Raw lasers with 30kpps scanners I use a max total of around: 300
