You can assign pads on your decks to lighting functions by pressing the top toolbar Pads button. There’s a demo of how to do it in this Pioneer/AlphaTheta video.
This is how I assign them for my DDJ1000
I use the performance pads when Sampler is selected or Shift_Selected, because I never use sampler. But you can assign them wherever you want of course.
I repeat the selection on the bottom 8 pads, so that I have the exact same on the deck one pads and deck two (so I can select lighting on the deck I’m not playing on currently). This combo of the 8 moods plus the 3 visible DMX Direct Control setups and strobe gives me loads of scope to change thigs up live. I’d love to have 8 DMX Direct Control setups there but currently rekordbox doesn’t light them so I can’t see which are on!. I use the 3 to trigger different gobos, gobo rotation and prism in my moving lights, letting me really change the look of the 8 banks in different parts of the night.
