The inner box needs to be shown at 8º. That means for every meter from the laser aperture, the box needs to be 14cm wide:
1m away = 14cm wide
1.5m away = 21cm wide
2m away = 28cm wide
You need to adjust the scan rate (pps) so that the blue circle is just touching the sides of the box in the middle.
Note that circle is actually defined using 12 points way outside of the square, this is why it can get much larger, to show you if the setting is too slow.
